Oprah’s Final Episode

No Comments Live your best Life

I was 13 years old when Oprah made her debut. I am fully a Oprah generation woman. If you didn’t get a chance to see her final episode, I would highly recommend you find a friend who PVRed it.  Take an hour and sit yourself down and take it in.  (All you eye roller non-Oprah fans, I dare you to actually do this:)

She talks about her guiding principles that she has learned and practised during her 25 years “holding the mic” for over 30,000 people. In her final episode she talks about her ability, because of her position, to give validation to people and issues for  by giving people a place to be heard.

There are literally a 100 different gems in her Final Episode. I encourage you to take the opportunity to sit and take in the amazing O.  Allow yourself to find just one thing that moves you to a deeper level of understanding of your true self, and then “go about the business of getting to it.”

Thanks Oprah!

Take a Leap into Life!

No Comments Live your best Life

“Fearless isn’t jumping out of planes, it is jumping into life!” – Rhonda Britten

But, sometimes it CAN be jumping out of planes! I took my little brother out to Okanagan SkyDive Adventures in Vernon to take a big leap for his 30th birthday. I made a little video for him to remember the day.
I think it is important to celebrate milestone birthday’s and dates in a big way. If there is one thing that we can all use more of in life, it is taking the time and opportunity to celebrate more. Or, maybe I was just proving to myself that I can still torture my little brother even though he is turning 30! Either way, I would rather regret the things that I DID DO, rather than the things I could have, should have, or didn’t do.

It ended up being a great day, a great jump for Matt, and something that we will all remember!

No regrets.

Feeling Stuck? Start Here

Feeling Stuck? Use this word, and change your life.

On that historic day, November 4, 2008, we witnessed President-elect Obama, give one of the greatest leadership speeches of our lifetime.  In that speech, we heard about the power of YES. “Yes we can”.  Obama tells us that yes we can “have a world of opportunity and possibility” and that, “there has never been anything false about hope.”  In order for us to capitalize on hope, there must be action. Saying Yes is one way of creating more action.  As a life coach, I encourage people to take action by uncovering the fears that keep them stuck and unable to move forward…and say yes.  If you want to discover what it is that is holding you back, start with this simple exercise.

For the next week, pay attention to the times you say Yes in your daily life.  Are you saying Yes more than you are saying No?  In what areas of your life are you saying Yes more often? Is saying Yes easy for you, or are you the type who really needs to think for awhile before committing?  Conversely, maybe you will discover that Yes comes freely, often flying out of your mouth, only to regret it much later.  Read more
